On the most easterly island in Britain, a great place to meet up, have fun and be well looked after… before or after a walk on the beach.
Mersea Island is a special place with beaches, creeks, boardwalks, sailing, oysters and a great community. Located at the heart of West Mersea village opposite the church, the pub is somewhere for a casual pint, an easy lunch or special celebratory dinner. And if you can’t bear to leave, there are six guest rooms to stay overnight.
HIGH TIDE
High tides are twice daily and sometimes cover the Strood, the causeway road to the island. If the tide is at 4.5m or higher, it will probably cover the road. It can sometimes take 30 minutes either side of high tide, other times up to 1.5 hours if a Spring tide or the wind is strong.
